Van deadlocks & slamlocks

Van deadlocks offer excellent protection by adding an extra locking point to the door. Used by many fleet and private operators, the van deadlock works independently of the manufacturer’s locking system — so the driver decides when each door is locked or unlocked.

Each deadlock installation is door-specific. Different locking keeps or brackets are used depending on the make and model of van.

Van deadlocks can be supplied keyed alike for convenience, so everything works on one key. You’ll typically receive two or three keys depending on the euro cylinder brand fitted.

A slamlock is a device that automatically locks the vehicle door immediately when it is shut, without requiring any action by the driver.

It’s primarily designed for applications such as multi-drop delivery, high-value loads, and any situation where the operator needs tight control over access to the load area. It’s the function as much as the security that makes slamlocks so popular.

Another major advantage with mechanical slamlocks is total control. Electronic systems often have global (all doors) or area (load or cab) unlocking, which can leave unrequired doors vulnerable until auto-relock operates. Slamlocks avoid this vulnerability.
